All About Autumn (for CC2C September)

Greetings from California! It’s a beautiful almost-fall day here. I imagine it is also very pretty with fall colors back in Pennsylvania where Rosanne lives. We are thinking all about autumn this month and have created autumnal cards for you. She suggested that we highlight a large sentiment for CASEing Coast to Coast, so here we go…

First, Rosanne’s beautiful card:

You can read all the details about her card on her blog, Heartfelt Stamping, by clicking HERE.

And here’s my card:

I literally went All About Autumn, with DSP! This DSP has been incredibly popular and Stampin’ Up! has had a difficult time keeping it in stock. It is due back the week of Oct. 23rd. If you missed it the first and second time, keep an eye out on the 23rd so you don’t miss it again. Here’s the whole pack ~

ALL ABOUT AUTUMN 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 CM) SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

I picked the library design today, because I have a friend who loves books, and I think she will appreciate this sentiment!

Materials & Measurements:
  • Early Espresso Cardstock base, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″
  • All About Autumn DSP, wood panel print 5-1/4″x 4″, library print 5-1/4″x 2″
  • Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper, 5-1/4″x 1/2″
  • Vellum, for sentiment shadow, 3-1/2″x 2″
  • Basic White for sentiment, 3-1/4″x 1-3/4″
  • Copper Clay Cardstock, 2-1/4″x 1/4″
  • Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins in copper

Putting It Together:
  • Glue the wood panelling DSP to the card base.
  • Glue the Oxidized Copper paper strip to the back of the library print, leaving about 1/8″ showing.
  • Glue the library print to the left side, meeting three edges with the wood panelling print.
  • “Blessed” by Honey Bee Stamps: crop the Vellum shadow with the largest die, stamp the sentiment with Copper Clay on Basic White and crop it with the coordinating die. Glue the two together and place Mini Dimensionals on the back to adhere it to the card.
  • Using Versamark Ink and white embossing powder, heat emboss the small sentiment to a strip of Copper Clay Cardstock. *It is easier to stamp on a larger piece of cardstock and trim it down after heat embossing! Add this to the card front.
  • Add the copper-colored sequins.
  • For the envelope flap, glue a 1/4″ strip of Early Espresso along the fold edge, then glue a 6″x 2″ piece of Oxidized Copper paper under the strip and trim to fit the flap.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our cards this month! Rosanne and I will be back for CASEing Coast to Coast on October 18. See you then!

I’m sending a pack of Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins, like the ones on my card today, to everyone who purchases $75.00 worth of Stampin’ Up! products from my online store during the month of September. Use my host code with your order and I will mail a pack of sequins to you early October.

  1. I love this card, Karen! I was wondering how to use the beautiful book DSP and you provided a wonderful example.

    • Thanks, Rosanne! I wasn’t sure how I would use this particular piece of DSP either until I started working on this card! 🙂
