I have “rediscovered” Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. You know how you use something for a while, move on to new products and forget the old? Then one day, you’re thumbing through your stash collection and fall in love with something you haven’t even looked at for a few months. That is what happened to me! And now, I’m here to show you another card that I made, using Garden Impressions DSP. I love it! This one could work for a valentine ~
It is a Z-Fold card. I used Shaded Spruce and Soft Sea Foam for the majority of the card, then threw in a touch of Melon Mambo and Night of Navy to compliment the DSP.
Southern Serenade provides the message on the front. This is one of my all time favorite sentiments and can work for so many different occasions.
The hearts and – what is that? A butterfly or a flower? – are from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies. I think the whimsey of them go nicely with the sketched -looking flowers and leaves in the DSP.
The Z-Fold is simple to make. Just cut a regular 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of cardstock, score it at 4-1/4, then again at 2-1/8″. Fold the card as usual in the middle and fold the half flap back the other direction.
The center pieces measure 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ and 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″.
I am blessed to call many of you my friends! Happy Valentine’s Day… early!

We are to get snow tomorrow too. I hope that high school student can still do our walks. Mike is recuperating well but not to take care of any snow. I am not wanting to do it either.
Staying in and playing with paper and ink sounds good to me. I had to smile as I picked that paper out this week too and played. I was so excited to see how it worked with the pieces I had from the watercolor Christmas tag set. Love how it works so well with various sets and other papers. Love your Z fold too. Your card is just so bright and cheery and perfect for a dreary day, sort of like the calm before the storm. Love Susan’s comment about revisiting an old friend. Great card and post!
Thanks, Chris! Stay inside, snug and warm! We don’t get snow where I live but we have a week coming with lots of rain, which = lots of snow in the mountains and that feeds our water supply, so we are happy to get it!
Good Morning and you are soooo darn right….re-visiting an old friend makes you rediscover the love!
When that paper collection first came out I used it all of the time….and then as we all seem to do, move on to another one that we love!
Since I have been more selective in ordering, I love to look at what I have and find the “why” of what hit me initially to purchase it – THANKS for the reminder to look and use what we have!
SUPER CARD and I need to “branch” out and try more fun folds…as they are just that – FUN!!!!!
LOVE that sentiment….and just pretend that I am sending that card to you…..I am blessed to call you my friend!
Thanks, Susan – Right back at ya! Have a great weekend (hopefully not TOO much snow!)
