Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month’s theme is “Male Room.” The Pals hope to inspire you with their masculine card ideas and paper craft creations using Stampin’ Up! products. Links to the participant’s blogs can be found at the end of each post to help you “hop” along!
A Masculine Touch:
Woven Textures, is the perfect paper to make masculine cards! I love the neutral colors and the texture is so realistic, you want to touch it to see if it’s tactile! My card today could be described as a fun fold, but it is an easy one that everyone can make.
Here’s my card:
You need to see the inside to understand the fun part of the fold ~
Materials, Measurements, & Methods:
- Early Espresso Cardstock, 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″ for the back
- Woven Textures DSP, 6-3/4″x 5-1/4″, scored and folded at 4″
- Glue the 5-1/4″x 4″ side to the Espresso backing
- Woven Textures DSP, dark brown, 1-1/4″x 5-1/4″
- Glue this along the front right, matching the right edges of the DSPs.
- Early Espresso Cardstock strips, 1/4″x 5-1/4″ and 1/2″x 5-1/4″
- Glue the skinnier one over the left side of the dark brown DSP strip, and the wider one to the right side. Only glue the left half of the strip and glue it under the front so only 1/4″ is visible to the front.
- Very Vanilla Cardstock, (2) 3-1/4″x 3-3/4″, cropped with Meant To Bee hexagon die
- On one hexagon, stamp Happy Birthday from Birthday Celebrations Stamp Set in Early Espresso. Stamp two flag banners, one in Granny Apple Green and one in Pretty Peacock. Glue the hexagon right in the center of the front, leaving 1/2″ hanging over the right side. Be careful with your glue placement, avoiding that right side!
- Stamp and glue the second hexagon on the inside, matching the placement to the front one. TIP: Glue the back, place it glue side up along the left side of the open card to match the front hexagon, then carefully close the back of the card over the hexagon to adhere. I hope that makes sense! You’ll get perfect placement that way.
- Early Espresso Cardstock, 3″x 3-1/2″, cropped with a smaller Meant To Bee hexagon die
- Glue it to the inside of the Vanilla hexagon for a detail interest.
- Adhesive-Back Textured Dots
Final Zhuzhing Details:
- To make the “waving” flags, I stamped two more on Very Vanilla and fussy-cut them out. After gluing them over the stamped ones on the hexagon, I curled them up a bit for more texture.
- Place three Textured Dots on the front.
- Add some matching DSP to the back flap of your envelope (a hint of what’s inside!)

A beautiful card and also the DSP! Love it! Thank you for sharing
What a great masculine card, Karen! You are making me think about this paper. Love that you combined a few of them that you can see on the card front. They really look great on their own and in combination. Thank you for joining the blog hop this month!
Karen, you’re absolutely right about “Woven Textures” being perfect for a “guy” card. It turns a simple card into a WOW!
