Winter Woods Christmas Tree Card

winter woods stamp set, in the woods dies, merry christmas to all stamp set, brightly gleaming dsp, copper foil elements, christmas card idea, stampin up, karen hallam, stampinup

Happy Monday to you! I’m so glad you stopped by to visit my little world of stamping and crafting today. I have a Christmas card that uses Winter Woods and Merry Christmas To All stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!

This is a card I made a while back, but never shared, so I thought I would use it today. The DSP, Brightly Gleaming, is no longer available to order, sadly. I hope you got some. But if you didn’t, or you wish you had more, I hear that it will be offered again in next year’s Holiday Catalog! I hope that is some consolation!

Of course, this card can be made with any pretty DSP, so adapt what you have and as Tim Gunn would say, “Make it work!” 🙂

Materials & Measurements:
  • Night of Navy Cardstock ~ 11″x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″ for a top fold
  • DSP ~ 4″x 3″
  • Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock ~ 4″x 2-1/4″ for layer, 3-1/2″x 3″ for tree, 5-1/4″x 4″ for inside
  • Copper Foil Sheet ~ 4″x 1/4″
Directions:
  1. Stamp the tree from Winter Woods in Shaded Spruce, crop out with In The Woods Dies.
  2. Next stamp “Merry” with Versamark Ink onto the Vanilla layer, sprinkle with Copper Emboss Powder, and heat set it. Then stamp “Christmas” with Night of Navy ink below “Merry”. Both stamps are from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set. Glue layer to the bottom of the card base.
  3. Glue the DSP to the top of the card base, then glue the Copper Foil strip across the seam.
  4. Adhere the tree to the card front with Dimensionals. Add Holiday Rhinestones and a Copper Star Element. Add a Copper Foil Christmas ornament to the Vanilla Layer and add a twine bow.
  5. On the inside, stamp the sentiment from Merry Christmas To All with Navy ink and add a copper star element.

  1. I will make this brief. I am not so computer savvy but enjoy your card creations very much. When I first started receiving card blogs, I would go into this elaborate comment and they were never posted so I gave up. Not sure what I need to do about that. So just in case, this goes through, just about every card you do is an inspiration.

    • It did come through, Sherrib13, and I appreciate that so much! I love creating and posting, and comments like yours are what keep me doing it. Thank you!

  2. Oh Christmas tree or Christmas tree how beautiful ….. I really like this. I am wondering how the punched out trees from the Nov. PP kit would look with this paper. I wasn’t on the ball to order a pack of this gorgeous paper but do have a piece from my shares so I can try it. I ordered the stars so that can be the crowning touch to the tree like yours. I guess you could say I love this!

    • Thanks so much, Chris! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your comments! I often wonder if anyone is even reading my blogs, so thank you 🙂

      • Not only do I read them I use your projects for inspiration to make something or maybe a true CASE or even just as a layout. Inspiration is the name of the game. I really like when you use the same sets or papers in alternate projects. Yes, I am doing better and will put a post on the top dog site.
