What the World Needs Now

I think everyone can agree, what the world needs now… is a little kindness.

World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper is a beautiful assortment of prints that resemble old world maps. The specialty part of it is Brass Foil accents. This Brass Foil is so shiny, it’s like looking into a mirror! Here, I’ve layered a piece of the DSP over Brass Foil after punching out the starburst shape for my sentiment. Then I glued it to a base of Misty Moonlight, one of our new In Colors. Here is a look at the DSP pack.

Pretty, yeah?

Let’s Improvise

But I don’t have any of the suite products that go with this paper yet. Soooo… I went “shopping” in my closet and looked for any stamps that have the word “world” in it! I found two sets ~ Waterfront and Free As a Bird. And I love the message these stamps give! Our world definitely needs a little kindness right now. And we need people who share that kindness with everyone they meet. I am fortunate to know a number of people that fit that category! I hope you do, too!

Double Stamp It

I stamped this sentiment twice, once in Versamark, then directly into Misty Moonlight. It doesn’t hurt the dye-based ink to double stamp with Versamark (just be sure you do the Versamark first.) It provides enough stickiness to pour Clear Emboss Powder over it and heat set it for a darker, shiny look. Then I used Layering Circles Dies to cut it out of Whisper White Cardstock.

Note: This particular punch was retired. If you don’t have it, the scalloped Layering Circles Die is the closest thing I could find to provide a similar look. Be sure to utilize the center of the Brass Foil layer – the space that won’t show anyway! I often punch or cut shapes from the centers of my layers to save on paper. No one will ever know!

I like this a lot. I don’t hear emboss much. I need to do that more but I guess I don’t have a good place to work that has a plug in by it. But I do like the look you get.

That’s really pretty, Karen! I make cards for hospital staff and first responders. This would be good for that purpose, I think. Adding a thank you to the inside might also work.
