Going to a wedding? How about taking a wedding card in Blackberry & Gold? Here’s a beautiful one that only takes minutes to make! The end product is stunning (even prettier in person) and so easy to make.
Make the Base
Start with a base using Blackberry Bliss Cardstock ~ 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″. Cut another piece of Blackberry at 5-1/4″x 4″. Cut one piece of Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate at the same size, 5-1/4″x 4″. Using Mini Glue Dots, stick a few to the back of the acetate behind the gold foil parts where they won’t show. Adhere the acetate to the 5-1/4″x 4″ piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock.
Wrap a 6″ length of Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon around the acetate-covered cardstock and secure on the back. Glue this to the card base.
Add the Label
Stamp the sentiment from Forever Blossoms Stamp Set using Blackberry Bliss ink. Then punch a white label using the Label Me Lovely Punch. Punch a second one from Gold Foil and cut it in half vertically. Glue the Gold pieces to the back of the white label, spreading them out and leaving about a 1/2″ gap between the two pieces. Attach the label to the card using Dimensionals.
Stamp the Inside
On the inside, stamp another sentiment from Forever Blossoms and attach a scrap of the Acetate along the bottom using Glue Dots, as before.
Embellish
Thread another length of ribbon under the first one and tie a bow, nestled right up to the label. Add three Wonderful Gems to the label.
Pardon me while I reminisce…
This color combination is gorgeous! And as I was making it, I flashed back 47 years (can’t believe it!) to my best friend’s wedding. We bridesmaids wore (Blackberry Bliss) velvet dresses and gold lockets for her winter wedding! It was elegant and beautiful. This card would have been perfect for her. Now that I’m thinking about it, I may make an anniversary card like this for them. Great idea! 🙂
