Uniquely Artistic for CCMC724

This week at Create With Connie & Mary we have another CASE the Catalog challenge. You’ll find the inspiration card on page 39 of the 2022-23 Annual Catalog. I chose to use Uniquely Artistic for CCMC724.

While I did leave off (perhaps) the main focal point of their card, the varied strips of DSP, I did CASE the two flowers on either side of the center sentiment strip. That arrangement and the type of sentiment I chose are the elements that I picked out to use.

Masking

This is a fun technique that puts the spotlight on your sentiment. I took a 3/4″ strip of masking tape and blocked out the center of the card front. While the tape was in place, I stamped the flowers and leaves from Uniquely Artistic. Then, before removing the tape, I brushed some Balmy Blue along the tape line using a Blending Brush, fading it out over the flowers. I wasn’t sure I’d applied enough ink, but when I pulled off the masking tape, there was a beautiful, soft blue line where my tape had been. Love it!

Finishing Touch

Self-Adhesive Seasonal Sequins might just be my favorite new embellishment! They are in the new Mini Catalog. These white ones are just the subtle touch of shine that I wanted without adding bulk to my card. Perfect!
