Two More Cuties in a Fruit Basket

Welcome back to my “Tutti-Frutti Cuties” series! This is my third post with these sweet little 3″ x 3″ fruit-themed cards. You can see #1 HERE and #2 HERE. Now that you’re all caught up, here are my last two, which complete a set of six ~ (and don’t miss my “handy” tip at the bottom of the post!)

Do you recognize this fruit? I probably wouldn’t, had I not lived in Hawaii during my high school years! This is papaya, a fruit staple there. I always thought it should taste like a cantaloupe with its orange flesh, but it has a taste all its own!
I decided to pull out the little bit of Lemon Lime Twist in the paper and use it for the base card and bottom oval layer. The sentiments on the front come in the Fruit Basket Photopolymer stamp set. I found the tiny stars in Balloon Celebration. Do you see those tiny drops on three of the stars? Those are a new embellishment in the Occasions Catalog called Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes. They look like tiny dew drops!
“Congrats” came out of the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.
Last one… Raspberries! Yum! For this one, I used Garden Green for the base, Berry Burst for the Layering Circle framelit, and two leaves that I cropped using the Leaflets Framelits. “Thank you” came from Thoughtful Banners.

If you haven’t noticed Thoughful Banners before, the small sentiments work really well with these small-scaled cards. Take a look ~

Notice that the banner images also match two of our punches, Duet Banner Punch and Classic Label Punch.

On the inside, I went back to the Fruit Basket sentiments and added a couple of leaf images from Garden in Bloom. Using different stamp sets that coordinate together is fun, but challenging if you don’t have an organizational method to easily find what you want…a post for another day!
My TIP for you today is one that I saw when watching a video by Susanne Netz. Genius! I never have enough hands when it comes to tying a tiny bow. And I had that third “hand” in my supplies all along!
Fiskars makes these craft tweezers that open when you pinch them, but stay tightly closed when you let go. Tie the beginning half knot and pinch that tweezer tip right onto the knot area. Now you’re free to tie a pretty bow. Then slide the tweezers off, and your twine stays perfectly tight and your bow is pretty! Hurray!
My fruit basket is one that I’ve made before but updated with this Tutti-Frutti DSP and ribbon handle. I love the kiwi print, don’t you?
