Trucking Along Christmas Haul

I’m back with a Merry Monday card for you today! I have a Trucking Along Christmas Haul with a tree and gifts for some lucky family! And it’s all being delivered in the cutest red truck…

Details:

• Thick Basic White Cardstock base, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″ for a side-fold card
• Joy of Christmas DSP, red and black plaid, 5-1/4″x 4″
• Basic White Cardstock cropped with the largest Nested Essentials Dies
• More Basic White for the sentiment, cropped with the smallest open die from Countryside Corners Dies
• Stamp Set ~ Trucking Along
• Stampin’ Pad colors ~ Real Red for truck, Garden Green w/Shaded Spruce in tree, Basic Gray for road, Pecan Pie, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, and Balmy Blue
• Memento Tuxedo Black ink
• Stampin’ Write Markers ~ Real Red, Garden Green, Tahitian Tide, Bubble Bath, Melon Mambo, Starry Sky
• Real Red Ribbon bow

Tips:

• To create the trailer on the back of the truck, I masked off the front of the truck, applied ink to the back half, removed the mask and stamped. I did the same with both the black outline and the Real Red filler stamps as well as the wheels.
• To define the sentiment strip a bit, I brushed the edges of the die cut piece with my red Blending Brush. I didn’t want it to be dark, so I used the residual ink that was on the brush from another project!
• I did the same with the sky and road. I brushed on some left-over blue into the sky, then some yellow to give a sunny feeling. For the road I used Smoky Slate and a Blender Brush.
• The sentiment is popped up on Dimensionals.
• The bow is attach with a Glue Dot.

This truck is a lot of fun to stamp! I didn’t get the wheels right the first time and almost thought it would be easier to color them in, but a second try got them spot on. Click here to see another card I made with the truck stamp and punch.
