I rarely post cards that I’m not 100% sure of, but this is a design that I’m not quite convinced is what I want it to be! I decided to put it out there anyway and see what you all think. Let’s call it a Creative Brainstorm ~ what is working? What is not working? Let’s have a discussion!

Here’s what I used:
  • Pretty in Pink Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Basic White Cardstock, 5-1/4″x 4″, embossed with the Peaceful Greenery EF
  • Gold Foil, cropped with the largest circle die from Stylish Shapes, then cut in half
  • Traditions of Christmas DSP, cropped with the largest Nested Essentials Die
  • Traditions of Christmas DSP, floral spray, cropped with Christmas Greenery Die
  • Sentiment from Friendly Foliage Stamp Set (coming Nov. 4), Mossy Meadow ink, fussy cut
  • Low Profile Dots (Last Chance) in gold

As unsure as I am of the front design, I have to say I love the inside! I cropped a partial floral spray out of the DSP (you know where the design is around the edge of the paper and only partially showing). I glued it into the lower left corner and that little pop of color is a win for me!

All in all, I like all the elements of this card. The colors are gorgeous, the embossing mimics the leaves in the floral element, the gold is yummy. What would you do differently? I would love to hear from you! Leave me a comment below.

  1. Pretty card. I like the gold circles but yet wonder if Dawn’s idea would be better? I really love the inside. Yeah, I guess I reall am not any help!

  2. I was thinking maybe put the same foil behind the flowers inside, for an added touch. Beautiful card.

  3. I like the card a lot, but I would slant the focal piece from the top left to the bottom right, maybe using 1/2 the gold circle on the top(save the other 1/2 for card #2 😉) and place the sentiment across it and the flower sprig. Don’t know; I can see it in my mind, but we all know my mind is 🤪, so…!

    • Hmmm…I’ll have to play around with that! I’m not sure that what’s in my mind is what’s in your mind as I read this! Ha! We need ESP! 🤔

Really like the colors, but was struggling with the gold until I read Dawn’s suggestion and realized that was it. I always like your cards.

    • Thanks, Phyllis! I agree that the gold is a bit much. That might be what I was having trouble with as well. Thanks for your input!

  5. Thank you for this beautiful and simple card! I love this card!!! TFS

  6. I love it just as it is! I love getting the two golden circles out of one shape! I also like the focal shape – great use of that die! Thanks for sharing!

  7. Beautiful card but I would take away the gold foil circles and cut a border of the gold foil around the largest Nested die!
