Today on Create With Connie & Mary, we have a color challenge. Our trio of colors is Fresh Freesia, Boho Blue, and Misty Moonlight. I used these three colors but also added tons of texture with this fun stencil pattern over an embossed panel.
Here’s our color challenge:
And here’s my card:
You can see the texture even better on this next photo:
Here’s how:
- Misty Moonlight Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
- Basic White Cardstock layer, 5-1/4″x 4″
- Run this through the Cut & Emboss Machine with a Basics Embossing Folder (I used the crosshatch pattern).
- Using a mask from Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks over this panel, brush on the three colors. I used Boho Blue at the bottom, Misty Moonlight in the middle, and Fresh Freesia at the top.
- Glue this to the card base.
- Earthen Textures Dies with Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight, and Holographic Trio Specialty Paper
- Crop the branch with Fresh Freesia Cardstock, clip between the fronds, and fold on the score lines.
- Next crop the vessel with Misty Moonlight and emboss with Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder.
- Now crop and glue the top of the pot with Holographic Paper.
- Using a narrow strip of Basic White, stamp the greeting with Misty Moonlight ink. I used Thank You from Throughout the Year Stamp Set (Mini Catalog page 61). Glue it to the card front.
- Place the branch where you want it, then using Dimensionals attach the pot over it to secure everything down.
- I added a 1/2″ Fresh Freesia circle to the branch and a Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gem to finish it off.
The tons of texture makes this card a stand out! I hope you like it! Be sure to hop over to Create With Connie & Mary to see all the beautiful cards the Design Team has created with this color combination!
Have a great day!
