The minute I saw this card design on Dawn Olchefske’s web site, I knew I had to make some! Is this not the cutest frog ever?!
I’m going to send this card to my grandson, who I miss very much since they moved up to Washington. He is the most awesome kid…I know he will get a kick out of this card. He’s in fourth grade now, but when he was in first grade he was in the “frog” class. Too bad this stamp set wasn’t available then!
First off, I stamped the image with Staz-on black ink (our new Archival Black would also be a good choice) and watercolored the frog using a Blender Pen with Wild Wasabi and Garden Green ink pads. I gave him a little sandy ground to sit on with Sahara Sand.
Using a 3 1/4″ square of Sahara Sand DSP from the Neutrals Pack, I punched three times with the Note Tag Punch, once vertically, then two more times horizontally, once in each direction.
I backed the dotted paper with a thin layer of Wild Wasabi, cutting out the center with my Stampin’ Trimmer. The three pieces are attached with 1/8″ Mini Brads.
A layer of Garden Green, embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder is glued directly to the Garden Green base (4 1/2″ square card). The top three layers are then attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Probably my favorite part of this whole card are his eyes! His eyes are the small circles shapes from the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers. Don’t they add the ultimate cute factor?
The twine was an afterthought. But since my top layers were popped up, I could slide the Linen Thread between the layers and tie my knot. I pulled the thread ends apart, leaving a frayed look.
I hope my pictures and directions have inspired you to try this card. If you need any of the mentioned supplies, I would be very grateful if you would purchase them from my online store. Each of the supplies are listed below and they are directly linked to my site, so you can just click and shop!
Thanks for visiting! Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
