Well, this is not a typical Karen card. I wanted to pair the new In Color, Tip Top Taupe, with black – and this bold graphic card emerged!
The base is Tip Top Taupe (available to everyone on June 2) and the first layer is Basic Black. I cut the striped strips from Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack (also available June 2).
That bold sentiment is from our new I Think You’re Great clear stamp set. I heat embossed it with black embossing powder to give it an extra punch. And punch, I did – with a 1 3/4″ circle punch, followed by a 2″ circle punch of Taupe, then a slightly larger Circles Framelits for the white.
I chose not to embellish it at all. Somehow buttons and bows just didn’t seem to go with this graphic design! I think it would be a great card to give a guy. I’m still deciding whether to put a message inside – maybe a thank you stamp of some sort, but that perfect something just hasn’t hit me yet. I’ll have to sit on it awhile!
What do you think of my card? It’s very different for me. I kinda like it 🙂 Ha! I’ll probably be back to buttons and bows tomorrow!
