The Great Outdoors (for CC2C)

Welcome to our July edition of CASEing Coast to Coast! Are you new to CC2C? Each month Rosanne Mulhern (Pennsylvania) and I (California) challenge each other to make a card that fits a prescribed theme. This month I chose the theme “The Great Outdoors.” We begin on the West Coast with a day on the beach. Then we’ll head to the East Coast to see Rosanne’s project! Join us as we travel from…

No surprise here that I chose Beach Day to depict my favorite place in the great outdoors! I don’t live on the beach. I’m nestled somewhere between the beach and the mountains. I love both, but if I had to pick – the sound of the ocean calls my name!!

Here’s my card:

Can you feel the sand under your feet? Smell the salt air? Hear the sound of seagulls as they pass by? Paradise! 🌴😊

Here are the details:

Thick Basic White Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
Fresh As A Daisy DSP for sky (retired SU), 5-1/4″x 4″
Coastal Cabana Cardstock for water, 4″x 2″, cropped with Beach Day Dies
Basic Beige Cardstock for sand, 2 pieces, 4″x 2″, cropped with Beach Day Dies and embossed with Evergreen (retired SU) Embossing Folder (any bumpy EF will do!)
Palm Trees and grass, Beach Day Dies, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, and Pecan Pie Cardstock
- To make the trees go in opposite directions, cut two, then turn one over and use the back side.
Sun – Everyday Details Dies, Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- Stamp the sentiment from Beach Day in Memento Tuxedo Black in the center of the sun.
Beach Chair – Beach Day Dies, Full of Life DSP
- Stamp the chair with Memento onto Basic White Cardstock and again onto Full of Life DSP. Crop the white chair with the Die. Then fussy cut the chair back and seat from the Full of Life chair and paper piece it onto the white chair.
Seagulls – Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White Cardstock, cropped with Beach Day Dies
Envelope lined with Full of Life DSP
