Thanksgiving Table Treats!

Want an easy, cute, and delicious table treat for your Thanksgiving table?  I wanted just a little something sweet to put at each place setting, so I chose Hershey’s Nuggets and came up with a little holder for two nuggets.  I adapted this idea from one I saw on Dawn Griffith’s site.  Let me tell you how I did mine…

For the Nuggets themselves, I chose 6 designs from the Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper and cut a 3″ x 1″ strip for each Nugget that I wanted to cover.  Stick 2 Glue Dots on the end of one side, wrap the paper around the Nugget and adhere the ends together.  Simple as that!  Now for the holder…

Begin with a 7″ X 1 3/4″ strip of Cardstock.  I chose Very Vanilla.  Score the strip at 3″ and 4″, then punch each end with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Fold on the score lines. Hold the ends together with a 7″ piece of Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, tying it together with an 8″ strand of Linen thread tied in a bow.  Slip the two Nuggets into the side of the holder.

Next take a 5 3/4″ x 1 1/4″ strip of matching DSP, score it at 1 3/4″, 2 3/4″, 4 1/2″, and 5 1/2″.  Be careful to use a lighter touch when scoring the DSP.  It is thinner than the cardstock and will rip if you push too hard. Fold on all the score lines, add a thin line of Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (aka Green Glue!) to the 1/4″ edge, and adhere the other end to it to create a little rectangular sleeve.
Stamp a “grateful” or other Thanksgiving type stamp in Delightful Dijon onto Very Vanilla and crop it out with a Layering Squares Framelit or square punch. I used the (retired) A Little Something stamp set, but many others would work. Glue the bottom half only and adhere it to the sleeve.
Slide the sleeve over the top of the holder and push it to the bottom.  It is just the right size to stay without gluing and it makes an easy way for guests to get to their treats.
That’s it! Won’t these look so cute on the Thanksgiving table?  I hope you’ll try them!  You can work with any colors that match the rest of your table settings.
