Thank You in Berry & Lemon Lime…and a WINNER!

I received a store bought thank you note from my friend last week and I loved the design so much, I thought I would try to create a Stampin’ Up! version of it. This is the card I designed ~
and this is the card that I took my inspiration from ~
I saw the Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist colors and thought I could get close to the same idea. The oval in the center is a little darker so I pulled Rich Razzleberry and cut the largest oval with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
I couldn’t find a “Thank You” that was quite the right size for my oval, so I performed surgery on one from the One Big Meaning set. Have you ever done this? The stamp said “Thank you for everything and more” so I took my paper snips and carefully trimmed off the “for everything and more” part. I cut very carefully so if I ever want to use the whole phrase, it will be easy to piece it back together.
Once my stamp was the way I wanted it, I inked it up with Versamark ink and stamped it just below center, poured my white embossing powder over it, and heat set it.
Word of caution: When using embossing powder on a dark paper such as this, be sure to prep the paper first with the Embossing Buddy (or other anti-static powder tool). If you don’t take that simple step, the flakes of embossing powder really show up where you don’t want them to – not a great look!
I layered the Razzleberry oval over a Lemon Lime Twist scalloped oval. I love how these two die sets layer perfectly.
This is a note card sized card – 5″ x 3-1/2″. I cut the Berry Burst at 5″ x 7″ and scored it at 3-1/2″. Then I cut another piece of Berry Burst to 4-5/8″ x 3-3/8″ and ran it through the Big Shot with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder. I wrapped a 7″ length of Lemon Lime Twist striped ribbon around the embossed piece of cardstock then glued it to the base. I tied a 4″ piece of ribbon around the longer piece and tied a tiny knot.
I stamped the butterfly from Hold on to Hope in Lemon Lime Twist and used the matching die to cut it out. Then I attached the oval pieces to the card with Dimensionals.
The envelope from Note Cards & Envelopes has a bit of Tutti-Frutti DSP glued to the back flap. The Lemon Lime Twist grid print goes perfectly with the card!
I like my thank you notes to be blank inside so I have lots of room to write, but a pretty little flower and butterfly up in the corner don’t take up much room and they make it a little more decorative. The stamps are part of the Hold on to Hope set.
I want to thank everyone that left me a comment saying they are receiving my posts in their email inbox! I appreciate your help. And I have a winner to the random drawing I promised!
