The expressions on these cats make me laugh! Here’s a fun, whimsical Christmas card for the cat-lover that you know! I think the mouse is getting the best of them, lol! This is a Sweet Stockings Cat Christmas, named after the designer paper I used ~ Sweet Stockings by Stampin’ Up!
I got my layout idea from last week’s Paper Players Challenge. Too late to enter (it’s been a full week!) but I wanted to show you where my inspiration came from. I believe you can still view all of the entries by clicking HERE.
Here’s the Christmas Cat card recipe:
- Thick Basic White Carstock base at 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″ scored and folded at 4-1/4″
- Basic Black Cardstock for layers ~ 5-2/4″x 2′, 3-1/4″x 2″, and 2″x 2″
- Sweet Stockings DSP layers ~ 5-1/8″x 1-7/8″, 3-1/8″x 1-7/8″, and 1-7/8″x 1-7/8″
- Basic White Cardstock at 4″x 2-7/8″, cropped with a Stitched So Sweetly die
- Critters fussy-cut from Sweet Stockings DSP ~ kitty in a box, grumpy reindeer cat, mail-carrying parakeet, and sneeky gift-thieving mouse!
Extra Details:
- I wanted to give the animals something to ground them, so I stamped some “ground” with Crumb Cake ink and the Waterfront Stamp Set (retired).
- The swing for that happy little parakeet is from Sheltering Tree (retired). I stamped it with Crumb Cake ink, but it could easily be hand-drawn.
I hope I have shared a smile with you today! Come back on Wednesday for our monthly Blog Hop with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals. We will be sharing our favorite things from the Stampin’ Up! catalogs. See you then!

This is absolutely adorable! I needed a special card to present a “sorry it’s not here yet” note to my cat-loving pre-teen granddaughter. (One of those pre-order deals!) This is going to be perfect! Thank you so much for sharing! Your sense of humor and creativity is lovely. I’m sure you are a great person to know! Merry Christmas!
And Merry Christmas to you, spiebo! Thanks so much!
Fabulous card Karen!!!
Thanks, Mary Anne! It was a fun one to make! 🙂
