Sweet Stockings (and a new Host Code!)

From a very untraditional color palette on Monday’s Christmas card, I’m jumping back to the very traditional colors today! The DSP is called Sweet Stockings. It’s perfect for the dog and cat lovers in the stamping world, but it is also perfect for everyone else. I guess, that is, if you like a red & green Christmas card! Here is my card ~

This paper is well-named. These stockings are sweet! And in case you were wondering, the only thing I stamped on this card is the greeting, “Noel.” The rest is paper!

Extra Details & Tips
  • I overlapped the vertical strips slightly, starting with the silver one on the card, overlapping the green stripe, then overlapping the red strip.
  • I hand-cut the stockings with Paper Snips.
  • The 3″ circle is adhered with Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment banner is also adhered with Dimensionals, but I doubled them up for extra height and placed the Dimensionals low on the back of the banner.
  • Last, I Doubled up the Baker’s Twine and secured it with a rolled-up Glue Dot.

Do you ever mix your whites with Vanilla? I probably would not have done that until I saw Laura Bassen do it. It looked great, and who is to argue with Laura?!!!

Christmas is a long way off, but I know some people like to start their Holiday cards early. And after offering Paper Shares, I think it’s fun to see what I can create with the papers that I’ve sent out. I hope you enjoy having my card ideas! I would love to see what some of you have made with the paper we shared. Send me a photo! I may just feature your card in a future post!

  1. Your layout has so many possibilities for other occasions and for usig scraps. You are a master at fussy cutting. The rounded edges on the stockings were so professional. Someone getting this is going to be so happy!

    • Thanks, Hope! And you’re right – anything could replace the stockings and = a new card for a different occasion. Thinking leaves, pumpkins, balloons…
