Sunrise Sailing (for CSF 882)

This week on Create with Stamping Friends we have a color challenge. I had so much fun making this card using Sunrise Sailing! I brushed the Timid Tiger (why do I keep wanting to call it Tony Tiger!?!) for the sunrise, and of course the Coastal Cabana for the water and sky. The Petunia sail really Popped, and the white brightened up everything!

Here’s our color challenge:

And here’s my card:

My Recipe:
  • Coastal Cabana Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Coastal Cabana Cardstock water, 4-1/4″x 2″, cut with Sunrise Sailing Dies
    • Line the long die across the paper 1/2″ above the bottom, crop, then glue the 1-1/2″ piece over the piece with the holes. Stamp the water with Coastal Cabana ink.
  • Basic White Cardstock
    • Cut a 3″ square for sun. Brush Timid Tiger over the whole square, then punch a 2-3/8″ circle.
    • Cut a strip 5-1/4″x 1″ to glue behind the top of the water, showing through the holes for whitecaps. Trim across the top, close to the Coastal Cabana edge.
    • Crop a cloud using Sunrise Sailing Dies.
    • Crop the sails for the small boat, roughly 1″x 1-1/4″.
    • Stamp the outline of the large sailboat with Secret Sea ink and crop it with the matching die, about 3-1/4″ tall x 2-1/2″ wide. Stamp the sail with Petunia Pop and the hull with Coastal Cabana.
    • Stamp a sentiment and cut the strip to fit.
  • Secret Sea Cardstock
    • Crop the small sailboat, approx. 1-1/2″x 1″.
    • Crop the three seagulls.
  • Glue everything into place, but use Dimensionals on the large sailboat.
  • Add three Iridescent Gems to add sparkle to the water.
