Sunflowers (for CC2C)

This month at Creating Coast to Coast, we are traveling from Pennsylvania with Rosanne Mulhern’s Heartfelt Stamping to California with Karen’s Stamping Habit! Our theme for August is Sunflowers! Let’s start with Rosanne’s card ~

Now we come back to California to see my card ~

This card is as bright and sunny as the person I made it for! I also used the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, but then fussy cut one of the sunflowers and two pairs of leaves. I used the Two-Toned Daffodil Delight Cardstock. It has a white core, so when you sand it lightly over the top it shows bits of white. Love it!

Full Details:

• Thick Basic White Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
• Crushed Curry layer, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″
• Basic White layer, 5″x 3-3/4″
• Two-Toned Daffodil Delight Cardstock, 4″x 3-1/2″, embossed with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder and cut the flower out
  • Lightly sand over the top of the flower to expose bits of the white core.
  • Daub Pecan Pie ink in the center of the flower.
• Old Olive Cardstock for leaves
  • Emboss them in the Sunflower 3D Embossing folder and cut out.
• You Are Remarkable Stamp Set
  • Stamp sentiment with Early Espresso ink to the lower right side of the card front.
• Pressed Flower Motifs – three
• Floral & Gingham Vellum 12″x 12″ Specialty DSP (Last Chance, marked down to $9.00) for Medium Envelope

This is a simple card design, so the sentiment is appropriate! It could be used for a birthday card, an “I’m thinking of you” card, or for any occasion.

I have a specific friend in mind for this card. She loves sunflowers and it will be her birthday soon ~ perfect!
