Sticky Note Pads & Pencil Holders (by Patty Hill)

Every once in a while I get a card or project in the mail, or in this case some photos in email, by a fellow Demonstrator that I want to share with you. These Sticky Note Pads & Pencil Holders were made by Patty Hill and I think they are such a fun idea. Patty is a Hobby Demo from the Reno area and has become a cyber friend of mine in the past couple of years. She dove into her paper stash and made a variety of these note pad holders.

Here you can see the inside and how she folded and snipped a pencil/pen holder on the side.

Check out all the colors!

These will make great little gifts for some specials friends!

She used cardstock for the holder with the beginning measurement of 3-1/2″x 7-1/2.” Then she scored each one at 3-1/8″, 3-1/2″, and 3-7/8″ and decorated the fronts with 2-7/8″x 2-7/8″ pieces of DSP. She found small mechanical pencils to fit on Amazon. Cute, right?! Her inspiration came from this video, with personal changes made to fit her need.

Thanks so much for sharing these with us, Patty! I’m definitely going to give these a try.

  1. I love these little pads. They will make great gifts for customers and others. Thank you so much for sharing. Patty did a great job!

  2. Cute! Beautiful assortment of colors.
How did you get the cut out to hold the pen?

    • Thanks, Veronica! I’m going to speak for Patty – I think the little snipped part of the folded area is small enough that the pen fits snuggly in there. The snipping creates a pop-out on the side. If Patty wants to add anything here, please do!

      • When you fold the “middle” score, made two snips (your choice where) to the next score line
one fold side will be longer than the other so to give room for the sticky note

        • Suggestion for the sticky note pads. If you use mini pens, make sure they come without “grips”. They won’t go through the slit for pen/pencil holder.
Hope this helps. They were easy and fun to make, and a great way to utilize scraps!
