Star-Shaped Christmas Tag

I’m playing with the Tic, Tac, Toe Challenge today! I’ve dipped into my retired stash and mixed older products with some current ones to make a star-shaped Christmas tag (or card!) Don’t have these older products? No problem! Read on down to learn how to make something similar with what you have!

Here’s the Challenge Board: 

I filled half of the squares with the top horizontal row (embellishment/shape card/holiday sentiment), the left vertical row (embellishment/gold/navy), and the diagonal row left bottom to right top (navy/free/holiday sentiment.)

This fun tag could be placed on a package, serve as an ornament, or treated as a card!

Here’s my recipe:

• Night of Navy Cardstock
• Basic White Cardstock
• O Holy Night DSP (retired)
• Stampin’ Up! Stars Framelits Dies (retired)
• Traditional Labels Stamp Set
  • Stamped with Versamark, sprinkled with Gold Wow! Embossing Powder, and heat set
• Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon
• Gold Shaker Stars
• Faceted Snowflakes Embellishments

To make the folded shaped card, cut a 10″x 5″ piece of Night of Navy, fold in half, and crop with the largest of the star dies, holding it off the top folded edge about 3/4″.

With the 2nd to largest die, crop a Basic White star and cut off the top point roughly 1/2″ down. Glue to inside of folded card. Stamp “To” and “From” from Traditional Labels Stamp Set in Night of Navy ink. Sprinkle Gold Shaker Stars around and glue in place. ***OR*** leave blank for a personal message.

Cut one more large Night of Navy Cardstock star (single layer) and one large star from DSP. Glue together. Heat emboss Merry Christmas to the front using Versamark and Gold Wow! Embossing Powder. Glue this to the front of the folded star card.

Punch a small hole at the top point and thread some Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon through it and tie in a knot at the top.

Add some silver Faceted Snowflakes to the front.

This can stand on its own for a table-top decoration as well.

*Adapt this project to fit any dies, paper, stamps, and embellishments you have. I’ve been at this awhile and have built up a nice collection of products through the years. The techniques will be the same, no matter what products you use!
