Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop (September)

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Sentiment as a focal point.” We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Hard To Choose!

There are many wonderful sentiments in our catalogs from which to choose. This was no easy assignment! I debated over a few, but I kept coming back to the sentiments in Quiet Meadow. I love everything about them ~ the font, the message, the variety from which to choose.

With many occasions needing a heartfelt message lately, I settled on this one: “Heartfelt love and caring thoughts are with you.” It’s a beautiful sentiment that can be used under several circumstances.

I also had fun building a collage-style card, one that’s not my usual style. The stamps in this set call for it. End of story! Lol!

Some Details

I stamped the sentiment with Evening Evergreen onto Basic White and cropped it out with a label die from Hippo Dies. Then I backed it with the larger die and Soft Succulent Cardstock. I love these two greens together!

I used Watercolor Pencils to give a quick scribble color to the wildflowers, then colored a piece of white Baker’s Twine with the Light Calypso Coral Blend to match the flowers. To tone down the Garden Green a bit in the leaves, I added Basic Gray over the green, again with the pencils.

The scripty and splatter stamps are a third generation of stamping. I probably could have stamped off even one more time to lighten it further. The die cut leaves coming off the side are Just Jade Cardstock, cut with Forever Flourishing Dies.

There’s a lot going on in this card! But I hope the highlight is on the beautiful sentiment stamp from Quiet Meadow.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 13th. Our theme will be Fantastic Fun Folds and 3D Projects when participants showcase fun fold cards or 3D items that will be great for any occasion. Until then, have fun in your craft space.
