It’s Thursday and we have a color challenge this week at Create With Connie & Mary. Our colors this week are Moody Mauve, Petal Pink, & Pretty Peacock. I’ve decided to try the Softly Sophisticated Bundle from our Sale-A-Bration brochure!
Here’s the board:
And here’s my card:
This card went through many evolutions before I landed on the final design! That ever happen to you? It changed so much that I don’t even remember how it started…
I decided right away that I wanted to showcase the new Softly Sophisticated Bundle that is free with a $100 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. This set comes with the embossing folder I used and the stamps that this pretty little flower arrangement. The flower stamps are two-part. I stamped the foliage in Pretty Peacock and the blooms in Moody Mauve.
More Details:
- Moody Mauve Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
- Petal Pink Cardstock layer, de-bossed with Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder (I turned it over and used the “back” side where the impressions go into the paper instead of out.)
- Basic White Cardstock strip, 2″x about 7″
- I stamped 3 clusters of flowers, one in the middle and one on either side, then lay the strip diagonally across the Petal Pink layer with the center cluster in the middle of the card front. I glued it down, then trimmed off the overhanging edges.
- Moody Mauve and Basic White Cardstock, cropped with Nested Essentials Dies (the two largest)
- To the Basic White one, I stamped another cluster of flowers.
- Then I glued the two together and adhered it to the front center using Dimensionals.
- Blooming Pearls in Pretty Peacock and a flag of Moody Mauve Ribbon complete the design.
The ribbon was an afterthought. Do you think I needed it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

It’s not often that I make a card without a sentiment on the front. It leaves this card open for any number of occasions. I’ll stamp the appropriate sentiment on the inside when I go to use it.
Enjoy your week!
