So Hoppy You’re My Valentine!

I was NOT going to craft today! I have so many other things that need to get done. But that frog kept looking up at me, and I couldn’t resist! My husband says I’m addicted…maybe?…but not a bad addiction to have. I prefer to think of it as a habit – 🙂

So Hoppy Together is a free stamp set that you can choose when you spend $50 on Stampin’ Up! products during Sale-A-Bration, January through March.

Isn’t he hilarious?! I colored the little amphibian with my Blends – Soft Sea Foam and Call Me Clover. Afterward, I scuffed him up a bit with my Color Lifter Blend to make his skin look frog-like. His eyes are shiny and textural with a couple drops of the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. The dirt he’s sitting on was achieved with Light Crumb Cake.

His valentine that he is handing you is from the Meant To Be Bundle, Lovely Lipstick and Whisper White Cardstock. It’s bumped up a little with Dimensionals. Those small LL hearts are from one of the thinlits in the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies. They are the insides of this thinlit ~

The 5-1/4″ x 4″ panel of Lovely Lipstick is embossed. I kept the Happy Heart Textured Embossing Folder from 2017. It’s retired now. If you don’t have it, any of the embossing folders with a small pattern would work to give the background that desired texture.

Don’t forget to give your stamped panels a bit of interest with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits. They are a great investment. I use mine often!

On the inside, I stamped the standing frog but chose to leave him as just an outline, holding another of the little hearts we cropped out. Are you going to ask me where I got the greeting? My computer! I typed in the greeting and altered the “a” with my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write Marker. That’s alway a good solution when you don’t have the exact stamp you need 🙂  Looking back at this, I think I need to give him some “ground” to stand on. He’s kind of floating in mid-air.

This was just a fun little card to make. You can get my froggy friends too! Spend $50 on anything else you need from the Annual or Occasions Catalogs or the Clearance Rack. You will then be able to indicate which free gift you want out of the Sale-A-Bration brochure. If you don’t have one to look at, I have a pdf of the catalog for you to look at. Go up to the side bar of my post (make sure you click on the title of the post if you are viewing this from your email) and click on the Catalogs button – scroll till you see the SAB brochure. Click and view! For every $50 you spend you get to choose a free gift, no limit, every time you order from now through March.

Let’s Sale-A-Brate! Hoppy shopping!

  1. Cute, Karen!

  2. Ribbbitingly cute! I love the embossing folder with it and it makes me a little sad that they don’t keep fun things like that each year to reuse. Not sad exactly but insert a hopping mad frog face! Anyway, cute card using both of the frogs. Love how you mottled the coloring. Love it when you said you couldn’t help crafting this when you saw their little faces looking up to you.

  3. Very cute card! I didn’t like this set, but after seeing everyone’s creations it’s kind of growing on me!! Lol

  4. Adorable card, Karen. Thanks for not being afraid to use retired products like that embossing folder. So many of us don’t get rid of past favorites and it’s a great reminder to us to pull them out one more time! The So Hoppy was my first pick for Sale-abration. I mean, after On Stage, how could it NOT be? Thanks for the ‘hoppy” inspiration.

  5. Super cute and love the way you grounded Mr.Frog!
