Snowman Season 2020

Remember this fun little guy from last year? He’s back and cute as ever! A few favorites from 2019 were carried over into this year’s catalogs. While I’ve been mostly focusing on new products, I didn’t want to overlook some of these returning ones. So I have added new DSP, a couple of new die cuts, and am calling this one Snowman Season 2020!

My base color is Pacific Point. I love the way this bright blue looks when I add the snowflake paper from Snowflake Splendor DSP. I created a couple of snow hills with the Home Together Dies and the Pine Wood Dies, but you could easily make your hills with scissors and cardstock if you don’t have the dies.

Snowman:

Next I stamped the snowman twice – once on a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock and once on the snow hills before gluing them to the card front. I used Stampin’ Write Markers to do a quick coloring, then hand cut the snowman from the scrap. I did not cut out his arms, hat pompom, or snowbank. When I glued him directly over the one stamped on my card, those features were already there. I could have just colored the one on the card, but I like the way his nose and hat hang a bit above the snow hill.

I stamped a few snowflakes from Snowman Season with Seaside Spray and generously brushed Wink of Stella glitter over the trees, slopes, and the snowman’s body.

On the inside, I used another snowman from the set and added the heartwarming message.

One more extra detail: I stamped Merry Christmas in Black, then again with Versamark ink, and heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It gives a brightness and shine to the card. Tip: The Stamparatus is your friend here!

Is it snowing in your part of the world yet? I heard Minnesota is turning white. We rarely get snow here in CA, but a short drive up toward the mountains takes us to a fun day to play in all the snow we want. Then we come home to dry roads and sidewalks! The best of both worlds!
