Snowfall Christmas Wishes

Snowflake Showcase

I had just enough of this beautiful Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper left for one more card!  Unfortunately, it is no longer available to order. But what I really wanted to show you today is this big snowflake die from Snowfall Thinlits. It is part of the Snowflake Showcase, and it is a limited time offer only during the month of November.

These dies are spectacular! You get a variety of sizes and they are especially gorgeous cut from Foil Sheets or Glimmer Paper. I used the Sparkle Glimmer Paper on this beauty.

Snowflake Showcase includes two stamp sets, these thinlit dies, and some Snowflake Trinkets. See the whole suite HERE. I recommend using the Precision Base Plate with your Big Shot for these, unless you have a Gemini or other mega die cut machine.

I paired it with Copper Foil Sheets and Merry Merlot to go with the card, then added a sentiment banner across the bottom that I stamped from Dashing Deer and heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. Sparkle & Shine!

On the inside, I stamped one of the sentiments from Snowflake Sentiments (Annual Catalog) in Merry Merlot. Then I stamped the small snowflake images from Snowflake Sentiments with Versamark Ink onto Whisper White and heat embossed them with Copper Embossing Powder. I cut each one out (the stamp has all three lined up on one stamp) with my 3/4″ Circle Punch. I could have stamped them right onto the card base and heat embossed them there, but I was afraid that I would mess up and possibly cause the paper to warp with the heat. So I played it safe!

Don’t forget to cut the middle out of the Foil Sheet that you use for layering! It is a paper saver ~ why waste all that beautiful paper that you are going to cover up?!

I finished the card off with some gold Metallic Pearls. I find that even though they are called “gold,” they can look like copper just as well. Very versatile!

I apologize for using this DSP that you can’t order any more. I made the card, then remembered afterward that it is completely sold out. If you don’t have any in your stash, I was thinking that it would be fun to try making something similar with Merry Merlot Card Stock, stamps, and copper and/or white embossing powder! Or just go with a different DSP. Some of the Frosted Floral would look beautiful. There are a few items from the Holiday Catalog that have exceeded expectations and were backordered to the extend that they had to put them on the “Non-orderable List.” It’s frustrating for all of us when this happens, but hopefully you got your orders in earlier and have what you want by now. Here is the word from Stampin’ Up!:

UPDATED: HOLIDAY CATALOG ITEMS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN NORTH AMERICA

Sales for the following products have exceeded our forecast and are continuing strong, resulting in a large number of backorders. Because backorders are so costly, we have made the decision to shut these items off effective immediately. Since these products cannot be sent from the manufacturer in time for the holidays, these item numbers will not be reactivated.

  1. Gorgeous card. I have had the paper on order ages. I do have my piece from a share though. I need to order the framelits too before they disappear. I will be CASEing this. Love it. My BFF loves snowflakes and I think she would love to have this as her New Years card. She is fussy about snowflakes and gets angry when there are more than 6 main points to a flake!

  2. Good Morning Karen, Beautiful card. The details are wonderful.
    Have a blessed day.
