Hi there! We have a sketch challenge for CC2C this month! Each month Rosanne Mulhern and I pick a theme and create a CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) to share with you. If you are new to my blog, CC2C stands for CASEing Coast To Coast. I live in California and Rosanne lives in Pennsylvania. Stampin’ Up! brought us together and we have been crafting coast to coast for a few years now.
This month it is my turn to pick the challenge. I went with a sketch from Mary Fish’s Stampin’ Pretty Sketchbook! Here is our sketch~
I looked at the layers and thought about all the pretty coordinating papers in Earthen Elegance DSP. This is the card I designed for the challenge~
Materials & Measurements:
- Night of Navy Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
- Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper, (Misty Moonlight solid) 5-1/2″x 1″; (Gray Granite Stitched print) two pieces 5-1/2″x 3-8″; (blue & gray graphic print) 5-1/2″x 1″; (Moody Mauve print for fan) 4-1/4″x 2-1/2″; (Misty Moonlight solid circle) 3″x 3″
- Gray Granite Carstock circle, 2-1/4″x 2-1/4″
- Moody Mauve Jute Trim, 2-1/2″
- Moody Mauve 2023-25 In Color Dots
Putting It Together:
- Glue the solid Misty Moonlight DSP strip to the left side of the card base, matching top, bottom, and folded edge.
- To the blue and gray print strip, glue the gray stitched strips along both edges, leaving about 1/4″ showing. Glue this piece to the right of the solid strip, leaving about 3/4″ showing.
- On the DSP fan, fan fold the scored lines to add dimension. With a little liquid glue, adhere the center to the card front as show. Add a mini Dimensional behind the top middle of the fan to hold it in place.
- Glue the 1-3/4″ solid DSP circle over the fan handle.
- Stamp the Gray Granite Cardstock circle with Earthen Textures “Thank You” in Night of Navy and glue it down, over the smaller circle and tucking it under the fan.
- Tie the Jute twine in a knot and adhere it with a Glue Dot.
- Add the three Dots where desired.
- On the inside, glue down a 5-3/8″x 4-1/8″ piece of Gray Granite, then a 5-1/4″x 4″ piece of Basic White. Stamp with a couple of sprays from Earthen Textures using Gray Granite and Moody Mauve inks.
