Single Layer Saturday

I thought I’d give myself a challenge and try a single layer card.  Not so easy as it looks!  But a fun change.  I found myself wanting to add more…the little rhinestones are the only thing that gives this card any dimension.

I masked off the oval in the center by cutting out an oval with my framelits and using temporary adhesive to hold it in place while I sponged around it.  I used our new Flirty Flamingo ink for the sponging.  Then I went to work with stamps from the new Love and Affection Stamp Set.  Both of these items will be available to purchase on June 1st.

The large flowers are stamped with Flirty Flamingo.  The centers are Watermelon Wonder, as are the tiny flowers.  I used Garden Green for the leaves, then decided to throw in a little Night of Navy too!

The sentiments are two stamps from Happy Happenings, in Night of Navy.  The dots around the oval are from a Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Write Marker.

And that is it!  What do you think?  Thumbs up… or down?  If I were being super critical, which I tend to be on my own work, I would darken the sponging around the center a little.  But that’s me being picky – next time I’ll try that.  I’d love to know what you think.  Leave me a comment at the bottom ~ thanks!

Have a great weekend!
