Simple yet Bold!

Yes, it doesn’t get much simpler than this! The last thing we need this time of year is complicated and time-consuming, so when I needed a little thank you note for the gift my daughter gave me, I whipped this one up in just a few minutes.

It’s so easy with pre-cut and scored Note Cards & Envelopes. I have both Whisper White and Very Vanilla. This Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper calls for white, so that’s what I used. Tip: I always trim my note cards down 1/8″ on one side and across the bottom. They fit so much easier into the envelopes that way. A simple little fix!

Layers of Wrapped in Plaid DSP and Shaded Spruce Cardstock give the note card a quick punch of color. I stamped the sentiment from Dashing Deer in Shaded Spruce ink onto Whisper White and used the Layering Squares Dies (approx. 1-1/2″ square) to crop it out. I found a plaid in the Wrapped in Plaid DSP pack that coordinates well with the stocking print, and layered it with more Shaded Spruce. A Cherry Cobbler rhinestone from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack adds a bit of sparkle.

On the inside, I stamped another greeting from Dashing Deer in Shaded Spruce, then I stamped two plaid trees from Perfectly Plaid (stamped off once for a lighter shade).

Tip: Make the plaid trees a little more colorful with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker. I used a ruler and my marker to color over a few of the lines in the plaid. Sometimes the little simple extras add a lot to the design!

  1. I love this. Simple but perfect. I haven’t looked at this set since last year and it will be a perfect card for a friend who sent me an early Christmas present. She adores plaid with her Scottish heritage.

    • Thanks, Chris! It goes together quickly, so fun to make lots of! Thinking of you often and keeping you in my prayers!
