Share an Ice Cream Soda!

Did you know that tomorrow (Tuesday, June 20) is Ice Cream Soda Day? Yep, I googled it and sure enough…! One of my favorite childhood vacation memories is going for an ice cream soda, chocolate of course, with my dad. It was a special and yummy treat. It’s been a few years since I’ve had one – maybe tomorrow will be the day I treat myself again 🙂 Let’s share an ice cream soda!

I’ve made one for you, in card form! I used Share a Milkshake stamps and dies and some chocolatey brown inks for a rich chocolate treat.

share a milkshake stamps and dies, ice cream soda day card idea, stampin up, karen hallam

The milkshake glass stamp comes in two parts. I stamped the solid one with Pecan Pie ink. Over that I stamped the top layer with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder for a “glassy” shine.

Additional Details:
  • Early Espresso Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Crumb Cake DSP from the 2022-24 Neutrals Collection, 5-1/4″x 2″
  • Basic White Cardstock cropped with the 2nd largest Countryside Corners Die
  • Cherry Cobbler cherry, waffle grid, and hearts from Share a Milkshake Dies
  • Straw and sentiments stamped with Real Red ink
  • The chocolate ice cream is Early Espresso, and the whipped cream has a little brush of espresso on it. I also brushed some Early Espresso at the bottom of the glass for that chocolate syrup look.
Recipe:

(‘cuz what good is a picture of one if you can’t make the real thing?!!!)

  • 1/2 cup plain milk or chocolate milk
  • 6 tablespoons chocolate syrup (such as Hershey’s)
  • 4 scoops of chocolate ice cream (about 1 1/2 to 2 cups)
  • Bottle of club soda or carbonated water
  • Optional: whipped cream and maraschino cherries or chocolate shavings (for topping)

Enjoy!

I don’t care for the real ice cream sodas or floats but I do really like your card! Probably the best I have seen with your realistic details with the glass etc. Well done Karen, really cool!

    • Thanks, Chris! You’re sweet! But you don’t like ice cream sodas or floats? Huh!!!! 🙂

I like ice cream but just not the sofa or whatever liquid. I think I got sick with a root beer float when I was little. I can not handle creamsickle stuff either. I can do a milk shake.
