Sending Hugs with Flowers

Warning: This project includes current and retired, Stampin’ Up! and non-SU products. But I love it, so I wanted to share it with you – and include it in my “portfolio” of card ideas. Hopefully, it will give you some ideas on how to use up some of that DSP you’ve acquired!

The Designer Series Paper is Flower & Field from our recent Sale-A-Bration brochure. I’ve cut two pieces at 5-1/4″x 4″, then diagonal cut them to create four triangles. This gives you enough for two cards, always a bonus!

I glued them to a base of Basic Black. Next I cut a 3″x 4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock and embossed it with an old embossing folder called Petal Pair. I’m hoping it looks like stems coming down from the flowers! That also got a mat of black.

I cut the flowers with the Pierced Blooms Dies (carrying over! hooray!) with Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, and Basic Black Cardstock.

The sentiment is from a pack of CZ Designs Reverse Sentiment Strips. I glued it across the white piece, centering it, then lifted the whole white rectangle up with Dimensionals. You can kind of see the dimension on the first photo.

This layout would work well with any paper, obviously! I especially like this print with the pierced blooms. Surely they must have planned them to go together 😉 !
