Rose Garden for PPA 285

Happy Monday!  I feel like I’ve been off-line forever, even though it’s only been a week!  I am back home for a few days before I fly down to Phoenix for the Gathering For Greatness Retreat, a Stampin’ Up! event put on by Lisa Pretto.  I guess you could call her my “great grandma” in stamping – which is weird because she is younger than me!!  Well, needless to say, I’m really looking forward to attending her event and being a sponge – soaking up all the information that they toss out there.  I know it’s going to be great fun.

Today’s card has 2 purposes:  First, I will enter it into the Pals Paper Arts challenge for this week.  It’s a color challenge.  Here’s the banner that helped me get started:

And secondly, I wanted to play around with this Rose Garden Thinlits Die in preparation for a card class I’ll be giving this month.

I think the key to this card is the Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I used them to pop up the white panel over the Watermelon Wonder base, the sentiment banner, and the pink butterflies.  The “puffies,” as my ladies call them, give the card great dimension (imagine that!)

I cropped out the flower/leaf image with the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies and a sheet of taupe/white stripes from the Go Wild DSP Stack.  I glued it to Tip Top Taupe with a Fine-tip Glue Pen.

The sentiment and inside image are both from the Rose Wonder stamp set, and the white banner is cropped from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.  Bundle the Stamp Set and Thinlits Dies and save 15%!

Pink Pirouette Bitty Butterflies have tiny pearl bodies and seem to float over the rose.

I stamped the large image from Rose Wonder on the inside using Pink Pirouette.  Since it’s such a light color I was able to stamp it full strength and it is faint enough to write a message over it.

I pulled the Watermelon Wonder paper for the envelope flap from the In Color DSP Stack.  If you cut it 2″ wide and add a 1/4″ strip in a complimentary color, you can get 12 envelopes decorated out of one sheet of paper!  That is really stretching your paper supply and your dollars! 🙂

You will find all of the supplies I used on my card at the end of this post.  You can click on the picture which is linked to my online store.  There you can read all about the products and order any time of the day or night.  I love that!  Please contact me if you have questions.  I would be delighted to answer any questions.

If you are ordering close to $99.00 or more, please chat with me about joining Stampin’ Up! and obtaining $155.00 worth of products for only $99.00.  This amazing offer is good until March 31st, but don’t wait! You can choose any products you want, the shipping is free on your first order, and you will get 20% off any future purchases.  It’s a win-win!  You have no obligation beyond this Starter Kit if that’s what you choose.  Nothing to lose!  Let’s talk – email me at karenshallam@gmail.com.

See you tomorrow ~ Tuesday is Weekly Deals day!
