Remarkable Card (for CSF874)

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Stamping Friends challenge! Today we have a color combo of Cloud Cover, Cajun Craze, and Petal Pink. I made a simple, graphic card that might be called a fractured card, a puzzle card, or a stained glass window card. I’m calling it a Remarkable Card!

Chances are I would not be able to re-create this card and have it look the same! I honestly cut the first piece, then started shaping and cutting the other pieces to fit around it. Like a puzzle!

If you like this graphic look and want to try something like this, here are some tips:

• Cut one corner piece and temporarily tape it down to the 5″x 3-3/4″ piece of Basic White.
• Use temporary or repositional tape runner – or – just use a very small amount of Stampin’ Seal and rub some of the stickiness off on your finger. This step is necessary to get the rest of the pieces to fit around it and in your space.
• Do the corners first. Leave about 1/8″ between each piece. Cut random shapes but angle them to fit up next to your other piece.
• When one piece doesn’t work as planned, try another! This is a good way to use scraps!
• When you have them all fitting together the way you like it, remove one piece at a time, use Multipurpose Glue on the back of each piece for “slide time” until you’ve permanently glued each piece.

My base color is Secret Sea, cut to 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″. The flower is from Impressions Abloom. And the dots are Low Profile Dots in Petal Pink.
