Quick, Easy, and Pretty (+ Tips!)

Sometimes you want to make a special, extravagant card for a good friend and other times you want something quick, easy, and pretty to get into the mail. You can make a card that looks special without the fuss using Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration DSP called Dainty Flowers. This paper is so pretty. The designs look very delicate. And the best part about it is – it’s free! You can get a pack of twelve double-sided, 12″x 12″ sheets with any purchase of $50 from the current SU catalogs.

Quick!

It took me all of about 5 minutes to put each of these cards together. And I used up some retired ribbons (bonus!) in the process.

Old Olive and Crushed Curry

All but one have the same measurements. They are:

  • Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
  • Cardstock mat, 4-3/4″x 3-5/8″
  • Dainty Flowers DSP, 4-3/4″x 3-1/2″

I also lined the envelope flaps with a coordinating piece of the same DSP.

Tips

I’m always listening to questions people ask me to share with you. There are lots of little tricks to making your stamping experience successful. Here is one that you may find useful.

  • My photopolymer stamps have lost their stick! What do I do to get them to stick again?
    • This is a great question with an easy answer! Wash them! Carefully hold them under cool running water, add a drop of liquid detergent such as Dawn, and give them a gently rub. Rinse off all the soap, wipe them dry, and replace them in their case. With lots of use, the photopolymer can get layers of ink and grime. But washing them solves the problem!
    • Likewise, wash your clear acrylic blocks every so often! They too will get a grimy build up that needs to be washed off in order to stick well to your stamps. You can also put them in your dishwasher 🙂

I hope that helps some of you!
