Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Wonderful Cards/Projects from the Garden” where our design team showcase projects from things found in a garden, such as flowers, vegetables, fruits, or even a garden scene. We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. Once you finish here, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Dahlias are one of my favorite flowers from the garden! When I saw Delicate Dahlias in the new SALE-a-bration catalog for August – September 2021, I knew it would be first on my pre-order list.
This double stamp set will be available to order on August 3rd, and is FREE with any purchase of $100 or more. It’s a beautiful two-step stamping set that has the watercolor-look with etched photopolymer stamps. It’s one of those stamps that you can’t really appreciate until you stamp it on paper. Then WOW! The detail is amazing.
My Card Details
- Basic Black base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
- Beautifully Penned 12″x 12″ DSP (another free SAB gift with $50 purchase!), 5-1/4″x 4″
- Vellum Cardstock, 1-1/2″ x 6″ strip, embossed with the Dots Embossing Folder
- Delicate Dahlias flower and leaves, stamped with Polished Pink, Garden Green, and Granny Apple Green Inks on Basic White Cardstock
- Basic Black Cardstock sentiment strip, cropped with a Tasteful Labels Die
- Sentiment from Delicate Dahlias, stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder
- Subtle Shimmer Sequins (available August 3), five in the flower center
The dahlia image is beautiful on its own, but I decided to give it some extra dimension. So I stamped it three times and hand-cut them out, staggering the sizes. Then I separated the layers with Dimensionals. I’m not going to lie…figuring out where to cut the layers wasn’t easy, but I’m happy with the way it looks. The tiny shimmer sequins is another item in the Holiday Catalog, available Aug. 3.
My design was inspired by this sketch from My Favorite Things:
There’s a lot to love in this new upcoming catalog and SAB brochure. I hope the rest of the Pals have also highlighted some of the upcoming products! Enjoy the hop!
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team, because the Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on August 11th. Our theme will be “My Happiest Season” when our Design Team creates a project showcase projects inspired by their favorite season of the year. Until then, have fun in your craft space.
