Pressed Petals with Washi for Wednesday

Oooooo, Pressed Petals is another new favorite! I held off getting this one when I was prepping my Paper Shares because 4 of the sheets are designed in a way that you can’t really cut the sheet in half. You’ll see what I mean when you see the video. Little did I know that this pack is so, SO gorgeous! Here is my first card designed with one of the prints.

It’s hard to tell where the flowers in the paper leave off and the embellishment begins, isn’t it?! The print is photo realistic, and the colors are just yummy.

Short Video

Take a quick listen to this You Tube video (click HERE) that Stampin’ Up! put out to show the paper pack and all of the products that make up the suite.

Card Construction

For my card, I started with a Crumb Cake base, layered with Merry Merlot, then the DSP. The label is from Stitched Nested Labels Dies and I stamped a sweet sentiment from Treat Time Stamp Set. This stamp set has recently retired, but many stamps would fit nicely into this space. After gluing that to the card front, I cut three sets of leaves from Pear Pizzazz and In The Woods Die set. I pinched the leaves in the center for some definition and dimension and adhered them to the label.

The flower embellishment is made from Washi Tape! I’ve never seen anything like it before. The petals peel off individually and you layer them in a circle to create a beautiful Pansy.

A little tip for making these: Build them on your Silicone Sheet, carefully lift it off and “powder” the back with your Embossing Buddy. That removes the stick from the back and you can add a Dimensional or a dot of glue to adhere it to the card. A coordinating flower-shaped Designer Element is perfect for the center of the flower.

I am in the process of designing a class centered around this Pressed Petals Specialty DSP. I will be offering it as a Stamping Habit Kit To Go as well. Please contact me if you are interested and have questions. Watch for details to come soon. And, as usual, you can purchase any of the products to make this card by clicking on the photos below. They are linked to my online store, and it’s open 24/7!

    • Thanks, Deb! I hate to say, but the Washi Tape has gone on backorder since I typed up this post. Apparently a lot of people love it! I think it will be back mid-July.
