Pressed Petals & Daisies

Pressed Petals & Daisies is dedicated to my late Mom-in-Law, JoAnn Hallam, who was the ultimate gardener. Today she would have been 90 years old! Happy Birthday, Mom! This card is for you.

Did you ever press flowers between waxed paper in a book? If you were to open some very old books in my collection, chances are you would find a wildflower or two! It’s been years since I’ve done that, but this beautiful paper takes me right back to that time. Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper is very nostalgic!

This particular sheet has small yellow daisies in it, so of course I had to add a couple of daisies with my new Medium Daisy Punch. I stamped the petals with So Saffron on So Saffron cardstock for a very subtle hint of texture, then added Mango Melody centers.

Next I decided to make a little gift box to match. This Kraft Pillow Box is the perfect size for some small candy or other little gifts. I used the full sized Daisy Punch for this project. The fern stamp behind the daisy is part of Daisy Lane Stamp Set, and it is stamped onto a Stitched Nested die cut piece of Whisper White. The For You stamp is from retired Thoughtful Branches. Blueberry Bushel 1/8″ ribbon picks up the blue in the card.
