Playing With (blue) Patterns

Do you love playing with patterns? I’ve loved playing with geometric figures since high school geometry class! This designer paper really appeals to me. Today I’m playing with blue patterns!

I have to tell you a funny story. Funny to me anyway! I was building this card front with the colors and patterns on the other side of these blue papers. But I was not loving where it was going. However, I had glued the side strips down to the middle and there was no un-doing it. I started to toss it in the trash when it flipped over and caught my eye. Hey, I loved the back!!! And I practically caught it in mid-air. It became a card after all. 🙂

I decided to make a fun center point with two shades of blue, so I cut two identical circles, one with Night of Navy and one with Misty Moonlight. I chopped off the Moonlight circle and glued the smaller piece to the Navy circle. Then the white needed texture, so I looked for something with circles in it to continue the theme. Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder has just the look I was going for.

I picked my sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays, but it could be for any kind of a celebration. What do you think? I am pleased with my mistake/save! Oh, I forgot to mention, I covered the paper seams with the Navy Ribbon from Playing With Patterns Ribbon Pack.
