Perfectly Penciled DSP for CCMC721

It’s a sketch challenge this Thursday at Create With Connie & Mary! Sketch challenges are fun because you can use any colors, any papers. You just need to (roughly) follow the sketch suggestion. Everyone will interpret it differently. I’ve chosen our new In Color, Parakeet Party, plus the Perfectly Penciled DSP for CCMC721. Here’s the sketch ~

Recipe:
  • Parakeet Party Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″ for a top-folding card
  • Basic Black Cardstock, 5-1/2″x 1″
  • Vellum Cardstock, 3″ square
  • Basic Black Cardstock, 2-3/4″ square
  • Perfectly Penciled DSP, 2-1/2″ square, cut into four pieces
  • Basic White scrap for sentiment, cut with the 2-1/2″x 3/4″ Deckled Rectangle Die
Directions:
  • Run the Parakeet Party card base through your die-cutting machine using the 4-1/2″x 3″ Stitched With Whimsy Die on the front half only.
  • Glue the black strip across the lower part of the card front.
  • Glue the Vellum square to the lower right side of the card.
  • Without breaking the design in the Perfectly Penciled squares, glue the four squares to the Vellum leaving a 1/16″ space between each.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Happiness Abounds in black ink to the Deckled white scrap and adhere with Dimensionals.
  • Add three black dot embellishments.

I love the little stitching from the Stitched With Whimsy Dies!

I have members of my team who tell me they can’t come up with design ideas, so I tell them to start with a sketch challenge! Do you find yourself stuck for ideas? Try a sketch like this! There are no firm rules – it’s just a great jumping-off point. Now go give it a try!

But first, head over to Create With Connie & Mary to see what the rest of the Design Team has made!

Are you thoroughly inspired? Good time to give one a try! 😉
