Peaceful Poppies Birthday Card ~ Sneak Peek!

This new Designer Series Paper does not say “subtle!” Peaceful Poppies is so vibrant! I love the combination of Blackberry Bliss, Poppy Parade, and Calypso Coral. Every sheet is a beautiful display of color. Here is a simple birthday card, but with this paper, it doesn’t look so simple.

I cut a piece of DSP at 5-1/4″x 4″ and glued it to a base of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock. Then I stamped a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays with Versamark Ink onto a Basic Black Cardstock strip, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.

I tied a bow with the new Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon that comes with the Peaceful Poppies Suite. Attached with a Mini Glue Dot, my placement makes it look like it’s tied around the flower stem!

On the inside, I stamped the birthday sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and surrounded it with Swirly Frames in Blackberry Bliss.

The envelope flap is dressed up with another piece of Peaceful Poppies DSP. This Blackberry Bliss is one of the back sides of a bright poppy sheet.

The Suite

The Peaceful Poppies Suite of products will be available for purchase on January 3. I expect this suite will be in high demand. Within the suite, you get the DSP and two bundles including stamp sets and dies. There are super cute sequins in all the bright colors (actually flower shaped and dimensional). I showed you the Whisper White 1/4″ crinkle ribbon. The last fabulous piece is the Peaceful Poppies Elements. These include pre-printed cardstock pieces, vellum, black elements, and watercolor pieces.

Put it on your Wish List and order it on January 3, before it goes on backorder (my prediction is that it will happen quickly)!

Buy a Sample Platter (aka My New Catalog Product Share!)

I’ll be showing more of the new products in the next couple of weeks as a preview of the catalog launch in January. I will be offering samplers of the DSP and ribbons that are coming out. Read about my offers HERE, then let me know by email that you would like to reserve a share!

One thing I didn’t emphasize before is that I cut my DSP shares into 12″x 6″ pieces. I think that this larger size (many others are cutting them 6″x 6″) makes for more flexibility and less waste. Please keep that in mind as you are deciding who you want to get your paper shares from! Email me at karenshallam@gmail.com and reserve your shares today!

  1. Beautiful card! Is there a die for the envelope flap or do you just cut it by hand?

    • Thank you, Kim! No die. I simply glued a 2-1/4″x 6″ piece of DSP to the flap, turned it over and cut away the excess with my scissors.
