Peace on Earth

I’m looking at the calendar and realizing that Christmas is 9 weeks from today! Time to get serious about my Christmas projects! This card is one of my new favorites. Doesn’t it just remind you of a quiet, snowy mountain scene? I love the colors and I love the sparkle!
Carols of Christmas is the stamp set and it is bundled with Card Front Builder Thinlit Dies. Buy it as a bundle and save 10%. This set came out in August, but I’m never quite ready for Christmas cards that early, so it has been waiting patiently for me to get “in the mood!”
The DSP is called Merry Little Christmas. I cut it at 4″ x 5-1/4″, matted it on Whisper White 1/8″ larger, and wrapped a 5″ length of Old Olive ribbon around the two layers. I then glued it to an Old Olive card base. Just look at this beautiful set of designer paper ~
The snow bank and trees are cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. The tiny deer is from Silver Foil.
I stamped Peace on Earth with Versamark Embossing Ink and heat set black embossing powder to give it a luscious shine. I cropped it out with a Stitched Shape square and layered it onto an Olive square cut out with Layering Squares framelits. It’s so great that all of these framelits are sized to work together perfectly!
I finished it off with a loop of the tiny silver sequins and white Baker’s Twine. I simply tied the twine around the green ribbon with the sequin strip laying in between the two.
So ~ have you started your Christmas cards? This might be a hand-delivered card with the bulk of the sequins, but it’s almost as pretty without them if you want to mail it! You could also pull a few of the sequins off and randomly glue them around the card to add the sparkle.
I would love to hear your thoughts!
Have a wonderful week ~
Karen
