Patriotic Stars for PPA 257

What a busy couple of weeks it has been for us here in Granite Bay!  We had our grandson living with us – he is nearly 9 years old and has mega energy!  We took him to Yosemite, to an Oakland A’s game, and lots of baseball practices.  I ran the Granite Bay Courage Run 5K to support their very worthy cause.  We are in the middle of Vacation Bible School where I am corralling a busy group of third graders (that’s kind of like herding cats!) and it’s all been fun and exhausting, and I think next week will be a little calmer and less eventful!  And more time for stamping!! 🙂

I made this card last night – I took the design from the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge this week ~

~a fun design by Nicole Watt.  I’m looking forward to seeing all of the cards that are created with this design.  You can see them too, by clicking HERE.

My patriotic card of red, white, and blue has a Whisper White base, a layer of Pacific Point, another layer of white which is embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
The circles were cut using the Big Shot and the Circles Collection Framelits, #3 and #5 counting from the center, with Real Red and Whisper White.  I then took the Stars Framelits and cut out the center of the red circle with the #2 star.  I cut another circle # 5 using the striped paper from the Brights Designer Paper Stack (Pacific Point) and glued it to the back of the red circle/star.  A Pacific Point star – the smallest star in the framelits – was glued to the top of the white circle.
“Celebrate!” comes from the set And Many More:
I punched the tiny blue, red, and silver glimmer stars with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and glued them to some of the embossed stars.
Stampin’ Dimensionals lift up the circles from the card.  I doubled them up on the bottom of the smaller circle.
The envelope gets a little decor from the matching striped DSP.
And there you have it ~  Ready for Independence Day!

Happy Summer!  Stay cool!

  3. I love the patriotic theme to your card. It means a lot to me because I retired from the military 26 days ago. =) Thank you for joining us this week at Pals Paper Arts.
