On The Fence
Here is my Pals Paper Arts entry for this week. And this is the Color Inspiration that drove my design:
I love the soft colors that Michelle Gleeson chose for this week’s challenge – very Spring and Easter -like! There are some beautiful cards for you to see on the PPA web site. Check them out HERE.
Now the how-to’s for my card:
Base ~ Crumb Cake 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Next layer ~ Blushing Bride 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
3rd layer ~ Mint Macaron 5 1/4″ x 4″
Sponge Mint Macaron ink up from the bottom about 1/3 of the way to create “grass”, then stamp the grass using Mint Macaron and the tiny grass stamp from Sheltering Tree.
Clouds ~ Free hand cut two clouds out of plain Vellum. Adhere with strategically placed Glue Dots or Vellum Tape.
Fence ~ Run a 5″ x 4″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. Cut into 1/4″ strips. You will need 7 altogether. Basket weave the horizontal pieces into the vertical pieces and attach pieces together with Glue Dots. Cut points on the top posts and trim to the correct size for your card. Glue to card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (aka green glue!)
Wreath and Sentiment ~ Circle of Spring Stamp Set, colored with Blushing Bride, So Saffron, and Mint Macaron using a Blender Pen. Cut out with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits. The bow is Blushing Bride 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon. The sentiment was cut with (retired) Mini Decorative Label Punch.
Bird ~ from (retired) Aviary Stamp Set stamped with Basic Gray and fussy cut.
I attached the wreath to the fence with a mini brad, but then covered it up with the bow, so it can just be glued at the top for the same look.
