Nature’s Poem With Country Home

This card was hard to photograph, as the textures got a little lost, but I want you to imagine it with lots of raised areas in the white background and in the two die cut leaves.

The base is made with Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I added a Cajun Craze layer, then added another Whisper White layer that was embossed with the Woodland Embossing Folder. I also embossed the flap only on the envelope to match.

The Nature’s Poem DSP measures 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ with a 3″ x 4″ Cajun layer underneath. The sentiment is from Country Home. That little splash of Cajun Craze behind the Stitched Circle Framelit is from Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. And the two leaves were cut and embossed with the Nature’s Roots Framelits.

I think the texture is best seen in this next photo with the card standing up. Lighting is a tricky thing sometimes!

Anyway, I hope you like it. I’m a big fan of all the elements on this card. It’s the essence of Fall to me!

Have a beautiful Fall weekend! We had our first big thunderstorm of the season Wednesday. It rained 2″ in about 4 hours with lots of thunder and lightning. It washed out my husband’s newly planted winter garden crop – poor little things were pummeled! I wonder if this is a sneak peek of weather to come? (Actually quite unusual for this area, and the water is much needed!) Today is supposed to be lovely, and I get to watch my (almost) 5-year-old grandson play soccer for the first time. Should be a hoot!

Until next week, Happy Stamping!

  1. Nature’s Poem continues to be one of my favorite DSP collections~love this card. The embossing adds just the right touch of extra texture. Thanks for the inspiration.

Very nice! Yep, I can see the texture – wish I could rub my fingers over it to appreciate it! Some of the trees are starting to turn colors gradually here. Love the Cajun craze with this. I have that DSP but not the stamp or dies – trying to decide if I really need them or can I get by with other leaves. You definitely have used your swirly die a lot!

    • Yes, I have definitely made good use of it this Fall! I’m chuckling at your comment, because you will be laughing when you see one of the cards in my October kit! yep, Swirly Scribbles. Guess I’m kind of loving it right now!!! It’s so versatile!

  3. Beautiful card. It is amazing how a little embossing can make such a difference-brings the card to life!

  4. I really like this card. Great layout, colors and use of multiple sets. Have a great time at soccer. I did that last weekend.

    • Thanks, Deb! This game tonight should be pretty cute – you know – Bunch Ball, as we used to call it when my son was that age. I’m not sure Oscar has much clue about the game, but it will be fun to watch. 🙂
