I want to pop on really quickly to post a little notecard that I made for my grandsons. After all, it is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, so I have to send them ice cream sandwiches!!! and a card!
How did I know about this incredible National day? Why, from Festive Friday Challenge, of course! Here is their banner that kick-started my design ~
In case you couldn’t tell, that is a big fat ice cream sandwich on my card! I used pink, brown, ice cream image, sweet sentiment, vanilla, and OK – summer fun, on my card. What is more fun in the summer than ice cream?!
I love these challenges for several reasons. But one of those reasons is that they get me into looking through older supplies that I’ve kept through the years. This one took me to Fruit Basket (2018) for the sentiment, and Tasty Trucks (former SAB set) for the little ice cream cones.
I stamped the left half of the sentiment with Early Espresso to show up on the Very Vanilla Cardstock. Then I stamped the right side with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder to show up on the Soft Suede Cardstock. I colored the cones with my Blends and cut them out with my Paper Snips.
Details, details!
Another fun detail that is more noticeable in person is the stitch-piercing on the cookie part of the ice cream sandwich. I ran the Early Espresso Cardstock through my Big Shot with a metal plate that pierces little heart-shaped holes in the paper without cutting them out. ‘Cause I C Sandwiches have holes in their “crust.” Fun!
Alright, the question is, which part of the ice cream sandwich did you save for last? Uh huh, you know what I mean! I always ate the strawberry first and saved the chocolate for last. I’ve always been a choco-holic! I’ll admit it! 🙂
Now this card is going straight to my grandsons. I will tuck in some cash and tell them to send their mom or dad to the store and buy them a box of ice cream sandwiches. I think they will like that!
Visit Festive Friday to see some more creamy card entries! Then go buy some ice cream sandwiches and feel like a kid again!

I am eating a grape Outshine juice bar as I read this. Close enough for an ice cream sandwich. Your card is so sweet and yummy looking. Love the die cut holes in the chocolate cookie part. I haven’t had the three flavored ice cream in ages and not sure which I would eat first. All my ice cream sandwiches were Hispaniola with the chocolate cookie. Oh except the ones we used to get in Chicago! Oh swoon! Chocolate chip cookies and usually vanilla ice cream but one time there was mocha in mine! Anyway, cute card and I recognized the sentiment immediately.
Yum. May need the Schwan’s man to stop by.
That is super cute Karen!
Thanks, Beth! I’m sure the kids will like what’s inside even better! 🙂
