My Heart Smiles

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January
2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016
Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are showcasing projects using
Stampin’ Up! products featuring a theme from any of the following:
Valentine’s Day; Thinking of You; Get Well; or Sympathy. All of these
themes come “From the Heart.”  We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or
may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog
Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from
blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
A favorite phrase of mine has been, “That makes my heart smile!”  So when I saw this stamp in the Suite Sayings stamp set, Occasions 2016 catalog, I knew it would be on my must-have list!
I learned about this cute “collar fold” from Stamping School by Linda Heller.  With the sweet prints from the new paper stack called Love Blossoms, it was easy to find a 2-sided paper that would lend well to this fold.
I stamped the heart with Rose Red ink from the You’re So Sweet stamp set (page 57 Annual Catalog),  then cut it out with the heart framelit from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies. These 2 items come as a bundle and save you 15% when you buy them together.  I do love how so many fun products from the various Stampin’ Up! catalogs work so well together.

I backed the heart with Rose Red paper.  No – there isn’t a die that cuts this one out.  I took the framelit from the inside heart, turned it upside down, traced around it onto the Rose paper, then quickly snipped it out with my Paper Snips.  A perfectly-sized border!
Although it’s hard to see in the photo, I added 3 small rhinestones to the centers of 3 flowers on the card front that adds a pretty little sparkle to the valentine.
On the inside ~ 2 strips of Love Blossoms DSP (1/2″ wide), and another stamp whose font goes very well with the stamp on the front!  This one is from Bloomin’ Love, page 17 in the Occasions Catalog.  All these coordinating products make my heart smile!  See the list of all the products I used at the bottom of this page and click on any picture to pop over to my online store and shop 24/7!
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog
