Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for “It’s the Sentiment That Counts” – showcasing new or favorite sentiments as the focal point of their project. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
For my card today, I picked one of my favorite sentiments from Country Home. It is my all time favorite set for the Fall and the sentiments are all encouraging messages that show a lot of gratitude. Love it!
Here is the whole set ~
Build a wreath shaped design
I hadn’t made a “wreath” card in a long time, so I decided to dig out my Stamparatus, wreath builder template, and some Autumn stamps. I used the small leaf stamp from Colorful Seasons and the wheat stamp from Gather Together. My color palette is Merry Merlot, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry.
Copper Foil goes nicely with these autumnal colors, so I layered the 3-1/2″ Very Vanilla square with a 3-3/4″ square of Copper Foil. Tip: Use the center of this foil square to cut the Layering Circle scalloped piece that goes behind the sentiment circle. No need to waste that beautiful paper. You’ll cover it up anyway!
To add to the copper shine, I heat embossed the sentiment using Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Heat Tool. Don’t forget to rub the cardstock with your Embossing Buddy first to eliminate the static and stick of stray embossing powder!
Here’s another Tip:
Adhere the cardstock that sits over the foil sheet by gluing in the “hole” left behind. Cardstock glues to cardstock much better than to foil. For the center scalloped circle, I cut another circle out of the center of that so the Dimensionals had cardstock to adhere to. Then as a bonus, you’re left with a 1″ circle of Copper Foil that you can use on another card.
To finish off the card, and to glitz it up a bit more, I found some metallic sequins and tangerine gem bits in my embellishment drawer. These are no longer sold through Stampin’ Up! but you may have a stash like I do! Or you can find them online.
Customize your envelope
This is a square card, as you may have noticed! Square cards, if sized at 4-1/4″ like mine, will fit into a regular Medium Envelope. However, if you want to create an envelope that perfectly fits your square card, here’s how you do it. So easy! Cut 1/2″ off each side of your Medium Envelope. Use narrow double sided tape to close off the sides. Your 4-1/4″ square card now fits perfectly into your custom envelope! I decorated the flap of mine with our new Come To Gather DSP, which just happens to match the colors in my card. 🙂 *Please note that square cards do require additional postage to go through the mail.
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Karen, this card is gorgeous! So glad to be reminded of the wreath template. What a beautiful design my friend!
What a great idea to use the wreath builder to make this pretty Fall card. The wreath is perfectly done and the sentiment just “shines” in copper!
This is gorgeous, Karen! You mastered the “sentiment as the focal point” challenge! Love how you created the wreath with every wonderful detail!!
This is so beautifully striking and really does showcase the sentiment! Thank you for sharing!
Country Home is still one of my most favorite Autumn stamp sets! And it plays so well with the other stamp sets! You did a wonderful job showcasing the sentiment with the wreath. Fabulous tips too, especially to any of our newer stampers! TFS,

Beautiful….again! I am so glad that you made a wreath as I think a classic wreath just makes a Fall card! I need to make one and thanks to your great instructions……there is no reason for an excuse! Great post ……Happy Hump Day!
Back at ya! HHD! 🙂 Those wreaths are fun to make! Thanks, Susan!
Hi Karen, I have never made a wreath card. I have all the makings but . . . just was too intimidated. This is gorgeous. Thanks for the tip about gluing CS to CS and the sizing of the envelope . . . definitely easier than starting from scratch.
Have a blessed day.
Nancy, they are easy! And fun! You need to dig out a smallish stamp, pull out the Stamparatus and give it a try. You’ll be hooked! 🙂 Thanks!
Your fall wreath is beautiful! The colors are gorgeous and really pop. That sentiment is one of my favorites as well.
