We have a color challenge this week at Create with Stamping Friends! I’ve taken Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green, and Basic White and decorated the Merriest Tree(s) for my card today.
Here is the color challenge:
Here is my card:
This card is for the “I love pink” people that you know! Berry Burst is such a happy pop of color. It contrasts beautifully with Granny Apple Green.
Here’s how I made it:
- Start with a base of Thick Basic White, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″.
- Add a layer of Berry Burst, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″.
- Next add a layer of Basic White, 4-7/8″x 3-5/8″, embossed with Snowflake Sky EF.
- Now build the tree ~ Using the Merriest Trees Dies, crop all 5 layering tree dies from Granny Apple Green. Stamp the tree trunk with Pecan Pie ink, crop it with the matching die, and glue it to the bottom of the largest tree part. Layer the tree starting with the largest piece as a base, then glue each part in descending size, matching the tops of each piece.
- To decorate, crop the garland from Merriest Trees Dies and Berry Burst Cardstock. Glue it to the tree as shown.
- Using the snowflake stamp from Sophisticated Sled, stamp snowflakes all over the tree with Craft White ink.
- Crop 5 Daffodil Delight Cardstock stars from Merriest Trees Dies, stack them and glue together.
- Adhere the tree and the star to the card base with Dimensionals.
- Stamp the sentiment from Sophisticated Sled using Berry Burst ink onto Basic White Cardstock and crop using a die from Unbounded Love. TIP: I adjusted the size of this die by cropping one, then bringing it down about 1/2″ and cropping again over the first one. This gives you a smaller, more size-appropriate label. It’s a great trick you can use with any label die!
- Add the final sparkle with some Iridescent Foil Gems.
Another Card!
This wasn’t the first card I made for this challenge! I started off with the following Trucking Along card, which I think turned out so cute. But then I realized that the English stamp set was sold out. You can buy the French version (on Last Chance Sale right now) which has all the same images. And the truck punch is also still available – and is marked down to $14.40! But since the sentiments are all in French, I scrapped that idea and made the tree instead. I still wanted to show you my truck card, in case you have the set and want to have a new idea for using it!
Gotta love a pink truck!
Now let’s head over to Create with Stamping Friends for more inspiration!
