Here’s another pack of Designer Series Paper that I haven’t used yet. It’s Mediterranean Blooms ~ pretty with hand-painted oranges and lemons. I did not buy the stamp set/die bundle (although I’m not sure why, as it’s very nice!) so I hadn’t dipped into the DSP yet.
To keep with the citrus theme, I pulled out last year’s stamp bundle (now retired) called Sweet Citrus. It does pair nicely with these prints. I used that on today’s card ~
This is a “book binding” fun fold – a very simple fun fold that only requires one additional score line.
Here’s what I did:
- I cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock to 11″x 4-1/4″, then scored it at 5-1/2″ and 4-1/4″.
- To the right of the second score line, I glued a 4″ square piece of Mediterranean Blooms DSP.
- To the left of the second score line, I glued a 1″x 4″ piece of Mediterranean Blooms that coordinates with the first.
- Next I glued the 1-1/4″ section (between the score lines) down to the back. This creates the “book binding” where only the 4-1/4″ square opens to show the inside.
- Then I tied a length of white Baker’s Twine around the card at the second score line and tied a bow.
- On the inside, I stamped one of the flowers in Sweet Citrus to the bottom right corner with Daffodil Delight and stamped a Crushed Curry center.
- Back on the front, I stamped my sentiment in Pumpkin Pie onto Basic White Cardstock and cropped it out with the 2-1/8″ circle die from Spotlight on Nature Dies.
- I ran the edge of the white circle around my Cajun Craze stamp pad to give the edge a little color detail.
- The final embellishment is a Garden Green Adhesive Backed Dots For Days.
Stampin’ Up! made a very interesting video with the creator of this DSP. You can see the process from the concept artist HERE.
Here’s a photo of the whole pack of paper:
I can’t wait to try the blue tiled side! But on to another pack that has yet to be tried…tomorrow! š
Enjoy your day!
